Reader’s and Writer’s workshop: We have continued exploring animal classifications through our Unit of Inquiry, How We Organise Ourselves. In Reader’s and Writer’s workshop we are researching invertebrates and practicing our note taking skills. We are then transfering our notes onto our powerpoint presentation about our chosen invertebrate.

Mathematics:  As part of our Mathematics learning, we are beginning to explore classifying shapes. Students will be learning to identify and describe shapes by looking closely at their properties, such as the number of sides, vertices (corners), angles and whether sides are equal or parallel. We will be sorting and grouping shapes according to their similarities and differences and explaining the reasoning behind our classifications.

Unit of Inquiry: In our Unit of Inquiry, How We Organise Ourselves, students are learning about classification and how people organise information, objects, and living things into groups based on shared characteristics. This week we have a focus on states of matter; solids and liquids.

Books week- book swap

We need your help. If you have any books at home in excellent condition that no longer serve a purpose, please donate them to our book swap in support of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF). All funds raised will go directly to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, this money helps to provide books and literacy resources to children in remote indigenous communities across Australia.
