Year 9 FutureMe Program

Last week,  Year 9 students from St Brigid's College and Murtoa College participated in the FutureMe Program delivered by representatives, including students, from Deakin University. It is an important part of our Career Education Program at St Brigid's College. 

Throughout the day students:  

- Learnt about the future world of work.

- Explored employability skills required to navigate it.

- Demonstrated new skills in job application-based activities.

- Participated in focused career conversations with industry professionals.

It was wonderful to have a number of community members volunteering to take part in the career conversations interviews that were driven by the Year 9 students. We thank them for their ongoing support. 

Textiles In Action!

So far this year our students have created some wonderful projects in Textiles classes, including dressing gowns, quilts, and ugly dolls! It’s been wonderful to see their skills and creativity grow. Well done everyone! 

Wimmera Music Eisteddfod 2026

We were delighted to have a number of students compete in this year's Wimmera Music Eisteddfod. All students were wonderful representatives of St Brigid's College and should be very proud of their dedication and effort.

Congratulations Archie!

We celebrate the achievements of Year 9 student Archie Thomas who was presented with two awards at the recent Horsham Motor Sports Club presentation evening, including 1200 Juniors Class Champion and Club Best Drive Away. 

Archie's determination, consistency and clean driving have contributed to his success in racing this season. His experience at the Victorian VSC 1200 Junior State Title in Daylesford this year saw him manage some wet and muddy conditions on the track, taking him from 6th position to 4th during the final. Archie finished 8th overall from 15 competitors - a fantastic result given the conditions and skill of his fellow competitors.

Sports Academy Visit to St Kilda Football Club

On the 9th and 10th of August, Year 8 and 9 Sports Academy students went down to Melbourne. The excursion started with a fun time watching the AFL St Kilda vs Carlton game. The next day, we visited the St Kilda Football Club for Nutrition and Recovery activities. We got to go in ice baths, a sauna, and recovery boots. Each activity was a great experience and everyone had a great time!! The sessions taught everyone how important it is to recover properly, as well as how athletes perform their best with the right nutrients.

Thank you to Ash McIntyre for making this opportunity possible, and to Olivia Spadea, Darcy Taylor and Harrison Walker who also accompanied the group. 

Yr 11 Presentation Ball

Congratulations to all the students who took part in our Presentation Ball. It was a wonderful evening celebrating our students, and the time, effort and enthusiasm they have put into preparing for this special occasion.

Over the past few months, participants have been busy learning the basics of ballroom dancing and rehearsing a range of dances in preparation for the night. It was fantastic to see their hard work come together on the dance floor.

Thank you to the many family members, friends and members of our College community who joined us in the Heritage Hall to share in the celebrations and support our students.

A special thank you also goes to everyone who helped make the evening possible, including our parents, staff and dance trainers, Maree T and James M. We are very grateful for the time, patience and encouragement they gave our students.
