Principal's Report

Dear families,

The past two weeks have provided many wonderful opportunities to celebrate our students and strengthen partnerships with families.

A highlight was last Friday's Year 11 Presentation Ball, which was a truly memorable evening. It was wonderful to see our students celebrated as the confident, capable young adults they are becoming. The night was a wonderful chance for families, staff, and students to come together and celebrate this important milestone. My sincere thanks to everyone who attended, and especially to those who contributed to the organisation and smooth running of the evening.

On Wednesday, we welcomed families to our Student, Parent, Teacher Conferences. Thank you to all parents and carers who attended and engaged in valuable conversations about student learning and progress. We greatly value the partnership between home and school, recognising that students achieve their best outcomes when families and educators work together. If you were unable to attend, I encourage you to reach out to your child's teachers. Please remember that parents and carers are always welcome to contact staff whenever support, information, or discussion is needed throughout the year.

Our Year 9 students recently participated in the Future Me Program, delivered by Deakin University as part of the Deakin Engagement & Access Program. This full-day experience helped students build critical knowledge about the changing world of work, explore career possibilities, and begin thinking about future pathways. 

Today, our Year 12 students benefited from an outstanding series of English lectures presented by Kirstin Bourne, an education consultant who has been working closely with our English and Humanities faculties through professional learning and cross-school collaboration. Across four engaging sessions, students gained valuable insights and practical strategies to support their preparation for the end of year examination. Feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on the relevance and usefulness of the sessions.

While celebrating these achievements, we are also looking ahead and continuing our planning for 2027. Work is well underway regarding subject selections, staffing, and enrolments to ensure we can provide the very best opportunities for our students in the years ahead. As we prepare for future growth, I encourage our community to spread the word about the wonderful opportunities available at our college. Enrolments are always welcome, and we look forward to welcoming new families into our school community.
