Prep Learning Reflection

Prep week 5-6
What a wonderful fortnight of learning in Prep! Our little learners have been working incredibly hard and we are so proud of the progress they continue to make.
In Maths, we have been learning to make, write and say our teen numbers. We have been using our special “tea” strategy to help us remember that teen numbers have a group of ten and some extra ones. We pretend to have a sip of tea and remind ourselves to say “zero ones”! This has been a great way to help us distinguish between those tricky teen numbers.
In writing, we have taken some BIG risks with our ideas! We have been planning, writing and revising our own narrative stories. We have not only been generating our own ideas, but also adding creative and interesting vocabulary to make our stories even more exciting. We are so proud of the wonderful stories our authors have created!
This week is Science Week and has been full of curiosity, discovery and a little bit of detective work! We had so much fun learning all about taxonomy with Mr Elliott. We headed out on an exploration around our school grounds, searching for different plants and animals and taking a closer look at their unique features. We then used these attributes to classify and group the living things we discovered. Our little scientists loved investigating, wondering and finding out just how many different living things are hiding right here at school!
What a busy and exciting fortnight it has been! We are so proud of our Prep learners and all the courage, creativity and persistence they are showing in their learning.
