Sports dress up day
Sports Dress Up Day – Thursday 17th September
Traditionally, we finish Term 3 by showing our support for our favourite AFL teams. However, with so many exciting sporting events taking place this year—including the Winter Olympics, Commonwealth Games and Soccer World Cup—we thought it was the perfect opportunity to broaden our focus and celebrate all sports!
On Thursday 17th September, students are invited to come dressed in their favourite sporting attire. This could be the uniform of a team they follow, a sporting club they represent, or clothing that celebrates a sport they love. We are looking forward to seeing how many different sports are represented across the school!
As in previous years, students are encouraged to wear a number between 1 and 99 somewhere on their clothing. This could be on the back of a jumper, a sports jersey, or even a number written on a piece of paper and pinned or taped to their shirt. During the day, students will have the opportunity to take part in our annual ‘Guess the Number’ competition by estimating the total of all the numbers worn by students across the school. The winner will be announced at an assembly early in Term 4, with prizes awarded to the closest guesses.
Students will also enjoy a range of activities throughout the day, including sports rotations outside and sports themed games in the classroom.
We can't wait to celebrate the wonderful world of sport and finish the term with a fun filled day of teamwork, participation and Kalinda spirit!
