The Grade students had a blast during their Italian lesson last week.  Who would of thought that you could play a multiplication game during Italian!  The Grade 3's are learning how to use the Italian language when playing games. Words such as "Your turn" (tocca a te) "My turn" (il mio turno) and also using their prior knowledge when using numbers in Italian.

SPORT

We had 13 students qualify for the Campaspe Cross Country event in Moama last week on a glorious Autumn day - perfect for running! The students all excitedly boarded the bus accompanied by Mrs Stock and Abby and were ready to try their best against 80-100 kids in every event. All of our students represented St Pat's with pride and trialled some of the long-distance strategies that we've been working on.  We couldn't be prouder of each and every one of them and thank-you to all the families who also made the trip to support our top runners!

For the seniors, Sports this fortnight has been largely about bowls!  We were lucky enough to get the opportunity to practice at the Tongala Bowls Club with club member, Pete Tinning there to offer his expertise.  In the hour that we had to practice, there was noticeable improvement by all of the students.  I think some even surprised themselves with most agreeing that it is a pretty fun game after all! This small excursion was in preparation for the Campaspe Bowls tournament coming up in Week 6 and we are very grateful to the Bowls Club for allowing us this opportunity to practice.

ART

In Art we are busy exploring TEXTILES!!!

For the junior students this means weaving and simple hand-sewing practice. We've used medium such as streamers through fence rails, ribbon through hessian and hand-sewn wool through hessian.

Our Grade 3-6 classes have also had a play around with making some pompoms. It'll be the task of our senior students to try to fashion these pompoms into a nifty school bunting that we will be able to display at our Specialist Showcase later in the year!

This unit has been a wonderful time of exploration and engagement for all students, and it has been a joy to watch them extend themselves and try new skills.

DIGITECH

The F-2s have been working on DigiTech skills and have just started a stop motion movie project! We watched some example videos, made plans for the beginning, middle and end of our stories, and watched Ms Parry's example video. We're now making characters and scenes from paper to take photos and assemble them into stop motion videos with the iPads.
