PBIS

This is our 'School Wide Expectations' regarding behaviour, we refer to it as our 'Behaviour Matrix'

This Matrix is displayed in every classroom at St Patrick's.

The Teachers explicity teach these to the students.

Our PBIS Blitz is:

Our PBIS blitz for Weeks 6 and 7 is.......... “Taking pride in Our Space”

When you walk into a clean, organised classroom, how does it feel? Ready to learn? Calm? Respectful?

Now… what about a messy classroom?  Papers everywhere, rubbish on the floor… not so great, right?

Our learning space matters—because it’s our space.

Our focus is taking pride in our classrooms.

That means 3 simple things:

Clean it – pick up after yourself

Respect it – look after furniture and materials

Own it – treat it like it belongs to you (because it does!)

Now imagine this… You finish your work and leave scraps on the floor.  That tells others: “Someone else can deal with it.”

But when you pick it up— You’re showing pride. You’re showing respect.

And that’s what PBIS is all about.

When we take care of our space, we are:

  • Being respectful
  • Being kind
  • Being ready to learn

So here’s the challenge:

This fortnight, show pride in your classroom.  Pick up rubbish—even if it’s not yours.  Push in chairs. Keep your space tidy.

Teachers will be looking for students who show pride—and recognising them!

Remember:

Clean it – Respect it – Own it!
