Message From Our Principal

Mrs Jackie Stockdale

Haven’t the mornings been chilly? By lunch time though, we are loving getting outside and the children have been kicking the footy, playing downball, building in the sandpit, playing Lego and just enjoying our space and the great outdoors.

As Principal, I was incredibly proud to showcase our school during our recent Information Night and Open Day tours. It was wonderful to welcome prospective families and share the many opportunities available to students at St Patrick’s. Our students were outstanding ambassadors, confidently sharing their learning experiences, demonstrating pride in their school, and warmly welcoming visitors. The positive feedback received highlighted the strong sense of community, engaging learning environments, and caring relationships that make our school such a special place. Thank you to our staff, students, and families who contributed to the success of these events and helped present St Patrick’s so positively to the wider community.

Throughout this term, staff have continued to strengthen their teaching practice through the use of StepLab coaching. An important part of this process has been teachers "dropping in" on one another’s classrooms to observe agreed teaching techniques in action and provide constructive feedback. These brief observations create valuable opportunities for professional dialogue, reflection, and continuous improvement. By working collaboratively and learning from one another, staff are building a shared understanding of effective teaching practices, ensuring greater consistency across classrooms and ultimately enhancing learning outcomes for all students.

Well done to our two lawn bowls teams who competed in Moama yesterday! One of our teams made it all the way through to the grand final, narrowly going down in a great contest. Both teams showed amazing growth in their skill, confidence and understanding of the game as the day progressed. Most importantly, everyone had a fantastic time representing our school. Well done!!

We said a huge thank you to our amazing volunteers, Mr Naylor and Alex, during National Volunteer Week!  Mr Naylor’s dedication to supporting our students through Maths tutoring has made a real difference to student confidence and learning.

We also thank Alex for the wonderful work maintaining and caring for our school library, creating a welcoming and organised space for all students to enjoy.

We are so grateful for the generosity, time, and commitment both volunteers bring to our St Patrick’s community.

In 2026, we will continue to place a strong focus on student attendance, as regular and punctual school attendance is vital for learning, wellbeing, and long-term success. Being at school every day helps students build strong routines, maintain friendships, and fully engage with their learning. We appreciate the ongoing support of families in prioritising attendance and working in partnership with the school to ensure every child has the best possible opportunity to thrive.
