Year 4 Prep Buddies

After a relaxing holiday break, the buddies were excited to reconnect and spend time together again. In our first buddies session for Term 2, Prep and Year 4 students participated in a Marvellous Monster Mania! activity. We began with a shared reflection on our Zones of Regulation and discussed how colours can help us identify and manage our emotions. We then read The Colour Monster by Anna Llenas and explored how the monster’s feelings changed with each colour.

Students then created their own monsters to represent a colour and emotion of their choice. To finish the session, buddies enjoyed chatting about their creations while sharing lunch together inside the classroom. It has been wonderful to hear such positive feedback from students about how much they are enjoying the Buddies Program and to see new friendships continuing to grow.
