Assistant Principal's report

Dear Parents/Carers,

Over the past few weeks, there have been several important initiatives and events taking place across our school community.

PROTECT Training Presented to School Council

As part of our ongoing commitment to child safety, members of School Council recently participated in PROTECT training. This training supports our understanding of child safety obligations, recognising and responding to concerns, and ensuring that child safety remains at the centre of all decision-making. Child safety is everyone's responsibility, and we thank our School Councillors for their commitment to creating a safe environment for all students.

Term 3 Parent/Carer Connection Session

We are excited to continue our Parent/Carer Connection Sessions in Term 3. These sessions provide an opportunity for families to learn from experts and engage in conversations that support the wellbeing and development of children.

We are very lucky to have secured Jade from The Happy Mango who will be presenting to families on the topic of Raising Resilient Children.

Further information regarding our next session will be shared early next term.

Recognising IDAHOBIT Day

On 22 May, students and staff recognised IDAHOBIT Day. Through age-appropriate learning activities, students explored themes of inclusion, kindness, belonging and respect for diversity. At EPS, we are committed to ensuring every student feels safe, valued and supported.

Attitudes to School Survey

Students in Years 4–6 are currently participating in the annual Attitudes to School Survey (AToSS). This survey provides valuable feedback about students' experiences at school, including their sense of connectedness, wellbeing, engagement and learning. The information helps us celebrate our strengths and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Homework Policy Review

Our Homework Policy is currently under review as part of our regular policy review cycle. Staff will be considering current research, departmental guidance and feedback from our school community to ensure the policy continues to support student learning and wellbeing. We look forward to sharing the outcomes of this review with families later in the year.

Please note the parent/carer survey is open until 15th June 2026.

Thank you,

Leanne Williams
