More info: Magnify is a high-level music intensive for students wanting to fast track their careers and boost their skills. Meet other high school musicians (aged 14-18) and take part in this unique music camp where you will develop the real-world skills you’ll need in your music career. During this week-long camp, students will get to participate in daily tutorials, workshops and collaborative sessions, getting the opportunity to develop skills in song writing and composition, improvisation and arranging. Students will also record a real studio session in Sing Sing East and take part in workshops in social media and online marketing to promote their music. Cost is $450, numbers are restricted to 30 participants, and entry is by audition (video, submitted by email).

Spark Engineering Camp, a week-long camp held during the winter school holidays specifically for students in years 10-12 who face barriers to tertiary education, particularly further studies in STEM fields.

What: Victoria Police School Leaver Career Session

Who: School Leavers – Years 11 and 12 – to help inform students’ decision around a potential career with Victoria Police.

This bespoke session will focus on the recruitment process, pathways into Victoria Police, and have a range of guest speakers who will discuss their experiences in joining Victoria Police, either straight out of high school or university.

When: 13th June 2024

Session 1: 4:30PM-6:00PM

Session 2: 6:45PM-8:15PM

Please note that each session will cover the same content, only one session needs to be attended.

Work Experience with Parliament of Victoria Term 3 & 4

Expressions of interest to complete a work experience placement at the Parliament of Victoria in Terms 3 and 4, 2024 are now open. Students can choose between two programs, Sitting and Services, and placements are open to students in Victorian schools who are residents of Victoria, and are 15 years or over at the time of the placement. We endeavour to choose students from a mixture of government, independent, and Catholic schools, from metropolitan and regional areas, and of all gender identities.

Parliamentary Sitting placements provide the opportunity to see the law-making process up close. Students will go behind the scenes with the staff who directly support Parliament sittings, to get a deeper understanding of our democratic processes.

Parliamentary Services placements offer a variety of opportunities that can be matched with a broad range of student interests and career goals, including business operations, facilities management and maintenance, broadcast (Hansard), and hospitality (kitchen).
