Study Work Grow (SWG) is a super comprehensive career resource aimed at supporting secondary school students and their families with career decisions.

And access to the Marist-Sion College Pathways Hub couldn’t be easier. Just click on the link which is also available on Simon > Student Resources > Careers and Pathways Hub and you will find resources relating to:

  • Further Study, including some great tools for upcoming Subject Selection, Early Entry Guide, Scholarships Guide, etc.
  • Finding Work, including a Work Experience Guide
  • Possible Pathways, including a Career Cluster Quiz
  • Life and Money, including a Gap Year Guide
  • For Families, a section designed to support positive career conversations

Furthermore, students, parents, and carers can still navigate around the main website www.studyworkgrow.com for all the latest blogs, job spotlights, events, scholarships, competitions and more. While those who prefer to watch and listen than read, might also like to check out their YouTube Page which has lots of student/carer/teacher-friendly content.

The Careers Team also regularly put hard copies of the resources from SWG outside the careers office (Jericho 9) for any student interested to access. If you would like a hard copy of a guide or resource, please let us know.

We would welcome any feedback from students and parents.

2024 National Careers Week – Career. It’s more than just a Job.

National Careers Week (NCW) (13 – 19 May) aims to celebrate careers, career development and promote the economic, social and personal benefits of career development.

Everyday decisions and priorities affect career development. Career development is about much more than jobs – it is about how to live your life.

In this role we do come across students questioning the value of school, not giving subject selection due regard, leaving the organisation of work placement until the last minute. The following Information Sheets might provide some food for thought….

  • School: What’s the point?
  • Making the big decisions – choosing subjects and courses
  • Parents as Career supporters

There are some great events occurring this week as part of NCW. As well as a whole host of other resources and info sheets which relate to interviews, planning and maximising career outcomes which are well worth a look. https://careersweek.com.au/resources/
