Life in the LRC

Spring has sprung and so have our new displays.

Our display pole has been decorated with an abundance of flowers, and a small tree introducing our new library assistants to our school community.  This new program has proved a great success with 13 of our students, from all year levels, signing up to take part.  These students, along with others, are invited to attend our up-and-coming State Library Tour on the 15th of October.  Spots are strictly capped at 20, so if you’re interested, expressing your interest to our library team is essential before the school break.

When we think of Spring and September, we often think of sport.  Our “Game On” display highlights all things sport, showcasing the abundance of sporting books available physically and online in our collection.

Our recently acquired fish tank has shown itself to be a much-appreciated addition to our space.  Students and staff regularly observe our new aquatic friends in their tank with great delight. To highlight this Mrs Ford and Ms. Beavis have decided to promote many of our fish- related books, by way of a “name the fish competition”, and in doing so, create a fun way to showcase the books available in our physical/online collection.

Finally, our new releases display.  We have recently purchased an abundance of novels for the whole school community to read. With the school holidays coming up we hope that everyone will come into the library and grab a few reads. If you prefer an electronic option, books can also be accessed through our library homepage online.

With a couple of weeks to go till the end of term, we hope those at school will join us during the last week of term for Live at the LRC on Tuesday 16th of September.

Have a novel day, and a restful break!
