Khipro Teacher Support Program School Profile
St Monica’s is proud to be a supporter of the Presentation Sisters of Pakistan through the establishment of the Khipro teacher support program, established in 2026. The Presentation community of Khipro in Sindh is supported with funds raised to support the payment of teacher salaries to assist with the recruitment and retention of teachers who teach across 13 village schools.
One such school is the Sr Roberta Kilbride primary school, located in in Sindh. It is a rudimentary one room school constructed of bamboo supports, straw and hay on an earthen floor. This school is typical of the type of schools run by the Presentation Sisters in this part of Pakistan.
It has one teacher and 50 students. It is located in an outlying village near Khipro, in a place called Bhopi Bela.
The sole teachers name is Mr Joachim. The images that accompany this piece were taken in November 2024.
