Anchorage House News

As we head into the summer season of the year and a term when the lights come on earlier in the morning, our boys have set themselves the challenge of hitting the beach each Thursday morning for a run and dip. It has been a highlight in our weekly routines as we all jump on the bus and drive to Ledge Beach. Buddy (Anchorage House dog) and Mrs Keatch also come along in support. What is great about this activity is it becomes a challenge by choice and we have had everyone at least get their toes wet if not, get a body surf or dip in.

Our Years Eight and Nine boys have commenced their transition in preparation for moving up to Eclipse House next year. Our three Year Sevens will also embark on fresh beginnings at Endeavour House, which will become our Junior Co-Ed Boarding House in 2025. They were introduced to their mentors and given a tour of Eclipse House. The seniors played some ice- breaker games then had the opportunity to hang out together with general activities like pool, table tennis, card games and basketball. We finished the evening with a Q & A session on all things senior boarding and Eclipse.  The next stage of transition will be the Eclipse House sleepover for the Year Eights and Nines on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 November, under the guidance and care of Mr Taylor Colton and the Eclipse House student buddies. The Year Sevens will continue their transition with Mrs Mackenzie after prep on those days, returning to current sleeping arrangements at bedtime.

Birthdays

James Waldron and Matt Cant both celebrated their birthdays this month. Wishing you many happy returns, boys!

Wishing you all a great run to the end of the school year and what will no doubt be a busy period as harvest season begins.
