Principal Post

Dear Families,
This week marks the beginning of Catholic Education Week. Our School and Social Justice Captains will proudly represent SJV along with some staff at the Mass of St Patrick at the Cathedral on Friday.
We also celebrate the Creative Arts and have four Visual Arts 2025 entries, displayed in the MACS Art Show.
On Friday we celebrate the cultural diversity within our wonderful school as we gather for Harmony Day.
May we celebrate and give thanks for all our blessings here at St John Vianney's. May we always be enriched by faith and support and feel connected to one another. May Catholic Education continue to assist all our students to flourish and be the best that they can be!
Sacrament of Penance - First Reconciliation
This coming Saturday several of students primarily from year 3 will make their First Reconciliation as part of the Parish Sacramental program.
We congratulate these students and continue to pray and support them to come to know God's unconditional love. We thank the teachers for their instruction as part of their Religious Education classes.

Staffing
I am delighted to let you know that beginning Term 3 2026, Jenny Willmott will be the 'Acting Principal' at SJV whilst MACS undertake a process for the appointment of Principal. This will be a 2027 appointement. We will keep you informed of any updates and staffing.
Next week,(Tuesday - Friday) I will be attending the Victorian Primary Schools Conference at Lorne. Held very 2nd year, I trust that it will be full of insight and wisdom. Jenny will be in charge.
NAPLAN - Year 3 & 5
Last week our Grade 3 and 5 students completed three of their NAPLAN tests, and on Monday they finished the final test — Numeracy. We congratulate them on the positive way they approached each test and for trying their very best. We are proud of their effort, focus, and resilience throughout the testing period.
We were not impacted by the outages that some schools experienced at the beginning of the Testing period. NAPLAN gives us useful data, but parents should see it as one assessment along with other school-based assessments.
The results usually come out toward the end of Term 2. We will keep you informed closer to the date.
Grade 5/6 Camp Meeting....
This Thursday 19th March, Grade 5/6 parents and guardians are required to attend an important Camp Information Meeting at 2:30pm in the Performing Arts Area.

Carpark
For safety it is vitally important that parents are patient, observant and vigilant at all times, aware of students, toddlers and other adults as they use the carpark. Please collect your child from the gate if you are in the carpark.
We seem to have more families using the Parish Carpark with the overflow extending into the top playground. It can be congested and we thank you for your patience.
If there is the ability to use the back area of our school St Johns Way (Kiss and Drop/ Collect ) and surrounding streets this may assist. Please obey all signs.
In the Parish Carpark please park in the desinated bays or in the top basketball court.
DO NOT PARK AT ENTER POINT IN THE ENTRANCE DRIVEWWAY
