Interim Reports and Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews
This is a heads up that interviews will be held on Tuesday 31st March, following the release of interim reports next week. These interviews are very important, particularly for the parents of our senior students. Students who experience challenges with their educational program early in the year generally will find it very difficult to catch up later in the year, so early intervention is critical. Please set this afternoon/evening aside so that an interview can be booked, and we can best support you and your child.
Mobile Phone Policy Reminder
On 26 February, students were reminded of the state-wide mobile phone policy, which is enforced by Charlton College. Students, including those in Years 10-12, are NOT permitted to have their phone on them during the school day at any time, including break times. Should they bring their phone to school, it must be stored in their locker or securely placed in the office through the day. Please could parents support the school with this policy, by ensuring that contact with students is made via the office (ph: 5491 1280).
Attendance Policy Reminder
Attendance is vital for academic success at school, and this becomes even more apparent in VCE. VCE students are required to attend a minimum of 80% of their classes for their performance in each subject to be deemed “Satisfactory”. In addition to this, students must give attendance at assessments their highest priority. Students have been provided with a spreadsheet of all VCE assessment dates. If they are too ill to attend on the day of an assessment, contact must be made with the office as soon as practicable, and a medical certificate must be provided. The full attendance policy is published on Compass or can be provided on request.
CEP Appointments with Sue Clay
A reminder to parents and students that the last day of CEP appointments is coming up on Thursday 26th March (next week). Students that have not yet had an appointment this year will be prioritised for an appointment on this date, but all students in Years 10-12 are encouraged to book.
