Maths Talent Quest Awards
We are incredibly proud to share that several of our talented students represented Karoo Primary School at the Mathematical Association of Victoria (MAV) Maths Talent Quest Awards Ceremony at The University of Melbourne on Monday 27th October.

A special mention goes to Annabelle, who also received the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI) Award for her outstanding investigation titled: “Which Transportation Would be the Best for the Earth and the Easiest for Us?”
We are also thrilled to share that Karoo Primary School was recognised as an Outstanding School Award winner for the third year in a row! This is a reflection of ALL our students who entered. They showed curiosity, creativity and problem-solving excellence in mathematics.
On Tuesday 28th October, we hosted our annual Maths Talent Quest (MTQ) Expo, celebrating the initiative, perseverance and mathematical thinking of all our student investigators. MTQ participants had the opportunity to showcase their projects to the Karoo community, proudly sharing the questions they explored, the strategies they applied and the insights they discovered along the way.
It was wonderful to see so many families, teachers and students engaging with the displays and asking thoughtful questions. A big congratulations to all our MTQ participants for their hard work and enthusiasm, and thank you to everyone who came along to support this special event!
At this week’s whole school assembly, all MTQ participants will be formally acknowledged for their achievements. Students who received a Distinction or High Distinction will be presented with their certificates on stage.
