Introducing the Inclusion Team and the Inclusion Hub

Welcome to our school community. As your child begins their journey with us, we want to ensure every student feels supported, valued, and able to thrive. A key part of this work is led by our Inclusion Team, a dedicated group of educators and specialists who work collaboratively to support students with diverse learning needs.

Who We Are

The Inclusion Team consists of the Disability Inclusion Learning Specialist Kylie O’Sullivan, the Inclusion Leading Manager Leah Grossman and our Education Support staff. We work closely with key members from our Year level leaders and the Literacy, Numeracy and Wellbeing teams. Together, we provide coordinated, evidence-based support for students who may have learning differences, disabilities, developmental delays, or social–emotional needs. Our team works closely with families, teachers, allied health professionals, and external agencies to create consistent and personalised support.

What We Do

Our primary role is to ensure that students can access learning in meaningful and supported ways. This includes:

Individual Education Plans (IEPs): We collaborate with families, teachers and students to set clear goals and monitor progress throughout the year. This looks different for every student based on their needs.
Classroom Adjustments: We help teachers identify and implement evidence-based strategies that support students’ learning, emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement.
Assessment and Planning: We review reports, observations, and data to understand each student’s functional needs and how best to support them.
Wellbeing and Regulation Support: For students who need a break from the classroom or assistance with emotional regulation, our team provides short, structured support so they can return to learning successfully.

The Inclusion Hub

The Inclusion Hub is a safe and supervised space outside the classroom where students can access support during the school day. It is staffed by trained Education Support personnel who work to help students regulate, complete modified tasks, or re-enter learning after a difficult moment. The Hub is purposefully designed to be calm, welcoming, and predictable. It supports students who need short-term intervention, adjusted tasks, or a quiet space to refocus.

Students may visit The Hub for a range of reasons, including assistance with learning tasks, support with organisation, sensory breaks, or help to manage emotions. The goal is always to build independence, confidence, and successful participation in the classroom.

Working Together: How Families Can Help

To ensure your child receives the right support at the right time, it is essential that we receive updated and accurate information. We kindly ask families to contact the Inclusion Team whenever:

Your child receives a new diagnosis or an updated assessment
You receive new reports or recommendations from psychologists, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, paediatricians, or other allied health professionals
Your child begins with, changes, or ceases working with an allied health provider
Any external supports or practitioners wish to communicate with the school

This information allows us to make informed decisions, adjust learning supports, and ensure consistency between home, school, and external services.
