During the senior Italian lessons this week, students played Serpenti e scale (Snakes and Ladders). This tested their knowledge of the Italian language they have been exposed to over the course of their Italian journey at St Patrick's.

The Grade 1-2 students looked at sentences such as 'Questo e il nonno' - This is the Grandfather.  Students are really enjoying learning how to translate sentences from what they have learnt so far.

The Foundation students looked at days of the week.  They learnt a new 'giorni della settimana (days of the week) song and also completed an activity where they drew what they do on each day of the week.

SPORT

This week we have been lucky enough to have a basketball Coach, Sienna, join us from Sporting Schools Victoria (SSV).  Sienna plays for the Shepparton Gators and coaches a number of junior teams in the Shepparton area, so we had plenty of students eager to learn from her!

Sienna spent an entire day on site in perfect weather and gave ALL our classes some coaching.  This week's focus was dribbling and involved a series of different team relay challenges.  'Golden Child' is always a hit with the students too!

ART

We have been working on the beginning of our Media Art projects in Art. Junior students are creating some nursery rhyme paper puppets to film later on and senior students have been planning and designing their own music and movie posters. All students have been learning and using the design process to work through each stage to create their projects.

DRAMA

In Drama, we've been storyboarding ideas to make music videos. We've been exploring how music, dance and drama can work together to communicate - especially how they can be used to tell stories ahead of Book Week! The students in all year levels have been enjoying creating imaginary holiday photos with wacky characters and wild adventures - showing in statue the shapes, characters and feelings they might be having.
