Alpha Youth

Alpha Youth Lunchtime Club
We are excited to offer the Alpha Youth program as a voluntary lunchtime club for Year 5 and 6 students next term.
Alpha Youth is a globally recognised program designed to help young people explore core questions about life, faith, and purpose in a welcoming, open, and respectful environment. Following its successful implementation across many secondary schools, Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) is now branching out to trial this engaging program specifically with senior primary school students.
What to expect:
Format: A weekly 8-week series hosted during lunchtime. Each session includes time to eat, watch a brief video tailored to young people, and participate in a guided small group discussion. These sessions will be facilitated by our Faith & Community Leader, Sophie MacKinnon, and Dina Hanna.
Content: Topics explore fundamental life and Christian faith questions, such as 'Why am I here?', 'How do I handle life's challenges?' and 'What does faith look like today?'
Culture of Openness: Alpha creates a safe space for open dialogue. Students are encouraged to share their views, express doubts, or simply listen to their peers. All perspectives are welcomed and treated with respect.
We have recently sent out an Expression of Interest survey to students to gauge their interest in attending. Further details, including start dates, will be shared soon.
Participation is optional. If you do not wish for your child to participate in this lunchtime club, please let us know, and we will ensure they are not enrolled.
If you have any questions or would like to learn more about the program materials, please feel free to reach out.
Sophie Mackinnon.
