The VPC and Year 10 Pathways students have commenced their First Aid Course every Wednesday as part of the Hazelwood Community Projects and Life Skills. The First Aid Course will need students to complete assigned modules to a satisfactory level before being assessed on the practical component of the course. The VPC and Year 10 Pathways students are excited for this opportunity to obtain their First Aid Certificate as it prepares them for future job opportunities.
At the Hazelwood Community Projects and Life Skills students have been hands-on constructing benches for a yarning circle and a fire pit. The yarning circle will incorporate the five shields representing the five clans of Gunaikurnai country. The construction of the yarning circle is ongoing as it is in the beginning stages of construction. These are some pictures of construction going on at the Hazelwood Estate:
In Week 3, VPC and Year 10 Pathways students will be attending the When Gaming meets Gambling Incursion on Monday the 27th of July 2026. When Gaming meets Gambling aligns with Literacy, Numeracy and Personal Development Skills Curriculum Design. On Tuesday the 28th of July, VPC and Year 10 Pathways students will attend the Jobs Skills Expo taking place at Lardner Park, Warragul.
The VPC staff is committed and dedicated in supporting and ensuring students apply themselves positively to gain valuable skills in enabling them to become productive and responsible global citizens. Once again, my appreciation and gratitude to the VPC team for their persistence, patience and responsive attitude in supporting these young adults in achieving their individual goals.
