From Your P&F

From Your P&F
Hi parents and carers, our next P&F meeting is coming up soon. This year’s committee is looking forward to a strong turnout and building excitement around upcoming events, including the Walkathon.
Please see the notice of meeting below and mark it in your calendar. If you can’t make it in person, please consider attending via Teams. A link will be available closer to the meeting date.
Marist Card and Games Day
The P&F will be hosting our next Marist Card & Games Day on Wednesday 15 July, which is straight after the holidays.
The Card and Games Day is a community event held in the Br Cyprian Pavilion where attendees (typically retirees) bring friends to enjoy a day of playing cards (e.g, Bridge), Mahjong, Scrabble or other board games, while savouring morning tea provided by Marist families and lunch provided by the College kitchen.
To make these days a success, the P&F needs parent helpers to assist with baking or supplying items for morning tea and/or attending on the day to set up and serve our guests.
If you can assist with sweet or savoury baked goods (homemade or store bought), they can be dropped off at the Br Cyprian Pavilion from 8:00am on the day, or between 1:30pm and 4:00pm the day before. Disposable containers are preferred but other containers will be sent back to Student Administration if not collected on the day (please ensure your name is on all containers). Please either pre‑cut items or ensure that they can be cut into bitesize pieces.
Volunteers for the day are needed for the following sessions:
- 8:00am – 10:30am – setup and serve morning tea
- 11:30am – 1:30pm – setup and serve lunch
- 2:00pm – 2:30pm – final clean-up and pack down
Volunteers are most welcome to assist for all or part of the day. It is a great way to meet other parents from many different year levels, as well as contributing to an enjoyable day for guests from the community.
If you are able to help by baking/supplying items for morning tea or assisting on the day, please contact Sue Hartfiel (0423 076 603) or Amy Hammon (0416 501 417) at email: CardDayPandF@marash.qld.edu.au.
Year 9 and 10 Parents Function 19 June 2026
The Year 9 and 10 Parents Function will be held on Friday 19 June 2026 at the Cyprian Pavilion, Marist College Ashgrove, from 6:15 pm to 9:30 pm. At present, only 13 parents have registered to attend. We would love to see a stronger turnout, so if you are able to come along, please sign up and join us for what promises to be a wonderful evening to connect with other Year 9 and 10 families.
Sports Canteens – Semester Wrap-Up
A big thank you to all of our parent volunteers for your support over what is traditionally the busiest semester of sport. Your time, energy and generosity have made a tremendous difference in keeping our canteens running and helping create such a great atmosphere across the grounds each week.
Congratulations to all premiership-winning sides this season, including the First XV rugby team and first XI soccer teams. Their success has been a wonderful way to cap off a strong semester of sport and school spirit.
The final round, Super Saturday, certainly lived up to the hype, with a bumper crowd and an electric atmosphere across the College. We are proud to say our parent volunteers rose to the occasion, helping us keep both canteens open for the whole day.
With 24 volunteers supporting the Grandstand and Coffee Van, and 13 volunteers at the Flats, we were able to meet the demand from families, students and supporters throughout the day. Once again, a sincere thank you to every volunteer who gave their time over the semester, your contribution is greatly appreciated.
Notice of Meeting
NOTICE OF GENERAL MEETING of the Marist College Ashgrove Parents and Friends Association
MONDAY 20 July 2026 at 6:00pm
Location: The Tower Building
Requests for agenda items can be sent to the P&F Secretary. We ask if these can be submitted by Monday 6 July 2026 to allow for adequate preparation.
We appreciate that Monday evenings are often busy; however, attendance at previous meetings has been lower than hoped.
Getting involved with P&F is a wonderful way to foster strong connections with your Marist family across your journey at the College. Our Association enjoys stability through the generosity of many capable hands, carrying jobs of all shapes and sizes. We are sure you would enjoy volunteering through our various activities and sub-committees that all help to make our Marist family the special community that it is.
