Intermediate Basketball

On Tuesday 25 August, our Intermediate Boys and Girls Basketball teams travelled to Wonthaggi to compete in the SSV Division Basketball competition.

The girls put together a strong day of basketball, playing well across the tournament and recording a mix of wins and losses. They competed hard in every game and represented the College brilliantly throughout the day.

The boys’ competition provided plenty of excitement, with a number of extremely close matches throughout the day. After some hard-fought games, the boys earned their place in the Grand Final, where they faced Wonthaggi. In a fantastic finish to the tournament, the boys came away with the win to be crowned Division Champions!

Congratulations to both teams on a great day, and especially to the boys, who will now progress to the Regional competition in October. We wish them the best of luck at the next level!

Milestone Fitlife - 9D Excursion

Recently, Year 9D visited Milestone Fitlife in Leongatha as part of their Health and Physical Education studies. During the excursion, students participated in an engaging HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) circuit followed by a challenging and enjoyable Pilates session.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and embraced the opportunity to step outside the classroom and apply their learning in a real-world fitness environment. It was fantastic to see everyone actively involved and willing to challenge themselves throughout both sessions. Adding to the fun, Mr Maskell and Miss Wrigley joined in alongside the students, creating a positive and supportive atmosphere.

Students are currently completing their individual fitness plans, the excursion provided valuable practical insights into a range of training methods. The HIIT circuit complemented many students' personal fitness goals, while the pilates session highlighted the importance of core strength, flexibility, balance and recovery. Students were also exposed to a variety of bodyweight exercises that they can incorporate into their own fitness programs.

A big thank you to the team at Milestone Fitlife for facilitating such an engaging and informative session. The excursion was a fantastic opportunity for students to explore different approaches to fitness and develop confidence in maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle.
