We love to celebrate our students' achievements - if your student has won something, appeared in something, competed in something, or is proud of achieving something outside of school, send photos and information to their Homeroom teacher for inclusion in our Newsletter.

Student Success Beyond the Classroom

We are proud to recognise the following achievements of our students in the wider community:

Week Commencing 24 August 2026:

Dance

• Pollyanna Nelson (Year 7), Alex Beach (Year 9) and Erin Multani (Year 7) – performed in Lisa Pellin Dance School’s Alice in Wonderland Showcase. Congratulations to all three students on their performances and the many hours of practice and preparation that go into bringing a production like this together.

Netball

• Lacy Fennell (Year 10) – selected in the Netball Victoria U17 State Squad. An outstanding achievement and wonderful recognition of Lacy’s hard work and commitment.
• Georgie Schaeche (Year 7) – talent identified to trial for the Gippsland Sports Academy U13 program. A fantastic achievement and exciting opportunity.

Gymnastics

• Annabelle Denblyden (Year 7) – competed at the Senior Gippsland Gymnastics Championships in Maffra, placing 1st on floor, with her team also finishing 2nd overall. A fantastic achievement – congratulations, Annabelle!

Horse Racing

• Olivia Aulich (Year 12) – achieving some fantastic things in horse racing and was recently featured in a horse racing publication. 

Junior Football

U14 Mixed Grand Final: Leongatha v Inverloch Kongwak

• Congratulations to Tully Chapman (Year 7) and Austin Huitema (Year 7), who were part of the premiership-winning Inverloch team.
• Congratulations also to Zaki Burggraaf (Year 8), Liam Meyer (Year 7), Aiden Cook (Year 7), Archie Beavis (Year 7) and Finn Matheson (Year 7), who were members of the Leongatha runners-up team.

Junior Football – U14 Girls Grand Final: Leongatha v Inverloch Kongwak

• Congratulations to Zoe Cox (Year 7), Evie McSherry (Year 7) and Ava Foon (Year 7), who were members of the premiership-winning Leongatha team. A special mention to Zoe, who was also awarded the Leongatha Junior Football Club Best in the Finals Series.
• Congratulations also to Elpida Tsekmes (Year 8) and Maya Newton (Year 8), who were members of the Inverloch Kongwak runners-up team.

Other Football Achievements

• Slade Hilder (Year 8) - MVP for the Central Gippsland Under 14’s 
• Spencer Ozols (Year 7) – Leongatha Junior Football Club U12 Best and Fairest.
• Brodie Drury (Year 10) – Best and Fairest at Catani Football Club.

Soccer

• Pat Frayne (Year 11) – representing Eastern Lions in the Division 1 Premier League.
• Ben Belliars (Year 9) – competing in the Division 2 Premier League.
• Taolin McNeil (Year 10) – representing Gippsland United.
• Billy Cawood (Year 9) – represented Gippsland at the Country Championships.
• Nathan Jimmy (Year 9) – represented Gippsland at the Country Championships.
• Lincoln Newton (Year 10) – represented Gippsland at the Country Championships.
• Beau Glenn (Year 9) – represented Gippsland at the Country Championships.
• A special mention also to Kevin Ladd, who is coaching the Inverloch Stars Women’s team. The team is currently sitting second and pushing towards finals.

Week Commencing 31 August 2026:

Netball

• Lacey Fennell (Year 10) – selected in the State 17 & Under Top 25.
• Gemma Meadley (Year 12) – selected in the State 19 & Under Top 25.
• Claudia Croatto (Year 11) – achieved her C-Grade Netball Umpire’s Badge.
• Kiara Van Dillen (Year 7) – finished 3rd in the U13 League Best and Fairest for the Mid Gippsland Football Netball League.

Swimming

Congratulations to the following students who have been selected in the SGB SC State Team for the 2026 Victorian State Short Course Championships:

• Charlie Graham-Cross (Year 10) received Venturer Scout of the Year at Leongatha.
• Kingston Dunlop (Year 8) received Scout of the Year for Leongatha Scouts.

Performing Arts

• Evie Read (Year 7) – performed on stage as part of Camberwell Showtime.

Congratulations to all of these students on their fantastic achievements. Whether training, rehearsing, competing, performing, coaching or officiating, these accomplishments require a significant commitment outside of school. It is wonderful to recognise not only the achievements themselves, but also the dedication, passion and effort our students demonstrate in pursuing their interests.

Year 12 Valedictory

A reminder to all Year 12 parents to please book your Valedictory tickets. Registrations for the event close on Friday 11 September. To secure your tickets, please use the link below.

If you have requested additional tickets, information regarding availability will be communicated after 11 September. Any additional tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Grade 5 Discovery Days

There are still a few places available for our upcoming Grade 5 Discovery Days. We encourage families to register as soon as possible to secure a spot. If all places are filled, students will be placed on a waitlist and contacted should a position become available.

SPECIAL REPORT: R U OK? Day

The rise of mental health concerns among young people, including anxiety, depression, and self-harm, is a pressing issue amplified by factors such as academic stress, social media, family dynamics and societal expectations. It is therefore crucial to prioritise early intervention, de-stigmatise mental health discussions, and provide accessible and effective support to address these concerns and promote the wellbeing of young people.

This year R U OK?Day falls on Thursday 10 September, an annual National Day of Action and a reminder that every day is the day to check in with your friends, family and colleagues.

R U OK? contributes to suicide prevention year round by urging people to invest time in personal relationships and empowering informal support networks to identify signs of distress. Families are encouraged to engage in this initiative, emphasising the importance of authentic human connections and reminding everyone to ask the essential question, "Are you OK?"

Parents, caregivers and schools all play a vital role in shaping young lives. Participating in R U OK?Day goes beyond classrooms, showcasing a commitment to holistic student development. By initiating conversations about mental health, schools create safe spaces, where children feel valued, understood, and supported. Parents can help by fostering an open dialogue, normalising emotions, identifying support systems, teaching active listening and addressing any stigmas relating to mental health.

2026 School Photos

In Term 2, a letter was sent home with students, with information on how to order your school photos.  Each student has a unique code allocated by the photographers; this code is recorded on the letter, along with a link to the photographer's website where photos can be viewed and purchased.

Emergency Contact Information Updated on PAM

Unexpected illnesses and injuries are unfortunately inevitable, to make things run as smoothly as possible for your child/children at school, could you please ensure that your emergency contacts are up to date on PAM and that the emergency contacts are available to assist in the times that the parent/guardians are unavailable.

This is important to keep children safe and well cared for.
