What a Wonderful Week of Learning!
This week, our Preps have been busy bringing stories to life as we continue to develop our visualisation and narrative skills! We have been learning how to create vivid pictures in our minds as we listen to and read stories, thinking carefully about what the characters, settings and events might look like. The students have been digging deep into settings and characters, exploring where stories take place, who is involved and what makes each character special. We have also been working hard on sequencing events so that our stories have a clear beginning, middle and end. The Preps have had wonderful opportunities to write their own narratives and create illustrations to match their ideas, allowing them to share their creativity in lots of different ways. We have also been completing some complex text analysis, thinking carefully about what authors are trying to tell us and using evidence from stories to support our ideas. It has been fantastic to see the students becoming more confident storytellers and developing their ability to explain, create and respond to texts. We are so excited to continue celebrating our love of books and stories as we head into Book Week!
