What's been happening this week?

CELEBRATING WITH COOKIES!
What better way to celebrate than with cookies!
After 4,000 positive behaviour acknowledgements helped fill our Celebration Tree, our Junior School Council met to decide how we should celebrate this amazing achievement. Classes voted on their favourite suggestion and Cookie Baking Celebration Day was chosen!
On Celebration Day, every class had the opportunity to work together to bake their own delicious cookies. There was plenty of measuring, mixing and decorating. Students showed our school values of Compassion, Ambition, Courage and Creativity as they worked together, helped one another and took on different jobs throughout the baking process.
Thank you to our staff and parent helpers and well done to all our students for showing our school values and helping us reach the 4,000 positive acknowledgements.
4,000 acknowledgements. One very delicious celebration!
THE TAJ MAHAL
Exploring the 7 Wonders of the World in Inquiry. Our 3/4 students created a puzzle of the Taj Mahal which is known for it's symmetrical architecture.
JACARANDA TREES
There was so much creativity in our 3/4 classes! The students have been reading "The Elephant" by Peter Caranavas and created Jacaranda trees to represent Olive's 'thinking spot'. Students have explored the main character in our class novel and how she feels at home compared to her quiet thinking spot.
SCIENCE IN ACTION
Our 1/2 students worked in groups to design and create aluminium foil boats. They then tested how many objects each boat could hold before sinking. There were lots of predications, problem-solving, teamwork and redesigning along the way!
HANDS-ON MATHS IN ACTION
Our Year 1/2 Mathematicians had a capacity-tivating time exploring which containers hold more, less or the same. Lots of pouring, predicting, comparing and learning through play!
TEAM WORK
Team work at our fingertips! Our 1/2 superstars had so much fun building connections, sharing laughs and strengthening their teamwork with a little texta-between-the-fingers challenge!
