Reach Workshops

This week, our Year 8, 9 and 10 students had the opportunity to participate in engaging workshops delivered by REACH, encouraging students to reflect, connect with their peers and build confidence.
Throughout the sessions, students took part in activities and conversations exploring important topics including connection, confidence, judgement, peer relationships, stereotypes and expectations.
Year 8 – Connection
Our Year 8 students participated in the Connection workshop, which focused on developing stronger relationships, empathy and understanding among peers. Students were encouraged to recognise the importance of supporting and connecting with the people they will continue their high school journey alongside.
Year 9 – Peer Dynamics
Year 9 students explored judgement, confidence and group dynamics through the Peer Dynamics workshop. Students considered how judging others can impact an individual's confidence, as well as the effect it can have on friendships and relationships within a year level. The workshop encouraged students to think about how their words and actions can influence those around them.
Year 10 – Mirror and Locker Room
Our Year 10 students participated in the Mirror and Locker Room workshops, exploring the stereotypes, pressures and expectations that can be placed on young people because of their gender. Students were encouraged to reflect on how these expectations can influence the way young people see themselves and interact with others.
The REACH workshops provided our students with an important opportunity to reflect, listen, share and connect. It was wonderful to see students getting involved in the activities and engaging in meaningful conversations with their peers.
A big thank you to the REACH facilitators for visiting our school and creating a supportive and engaging experience for our students.
