Recently we had our 30 days left of Year 12 celebration. The room was abuzz with hope and excitement, particularly as many students had received early entry offers to university that very day. We were expertly nourished and served by our cookery and hospitality teams, dishing up restaurant quantity meals and service.
Emily and Dean cut the celebratory cake, as we thanked the cohort for their pioneering spirit two years ago, when they decided to stay at the College as it expanded. Their legacy is an important one, not only will they start whole new traditions for us in Term 4, they have also helped establish a strong trust in the community for our senior secondary offerings.
Our Year 11 and 12 numbers for 2025 are very strong, including students from other schools. We look forward to the official graduation events occurring in Term 4.
Staffing News:
We welcome Ms Donna Meaghan to the College, who will be working part time in our Marketing and Communications Team.
Cultural Survey
All families have been sent a link for a cultural survey. This survey is being conducted with families, staff and students. It will give us a clear understanding of the culture of the school and allow us to set some clear cultural goals. Creating a high performing culture does not happen by chance, but rather through careful planning and consideration. This is a vital step in MacKillop raising our expectations about what we can be as a College. I thank you wholeheartedly for your active participation with the survey.
Last Call: Parent Uniform Committee
As previously communicated, recent feedback from parents made it clear that we should have a broad look at our current uniform offerings at the College. Thank you to the parents and guardians who have already nominated to be part of the discussion. Please email me directly if you are interested bgill@mackillop.tas.edu.au
