Kitchen Garden Program

Term 4 in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program

What a wonderful year it has been in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program! Across all year levels, students have delighted in preparing and cooking delicious meals using fresh produce straight from our school garden. The joy of harvesting, chopping, stirring and tasting has been shared by everyone, and it has been inspiring to see our young chefs grow in confidence and creativity in the kitchen.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our two incredible parent volunteers, Emma Wagner and Kathleen Windsor, whose tireless efforts have made this program possible. From testing recipes to shopping for ingredients and spending full days cooking alongside our students, your dedication has been invaluable. We especially farewell Kathleen as her family moves on to high school - your contribution has left a lasting mark, and we are deeply grateful.

We also extend our appreciation to all the parents and grandparents who joined us on cooking days. The students truly love having you there and your support brings an extra layer of joy and community spirit to the program.

The recipes that the students cooked this term are available in this newsletter. I hope you have an opportunity to cook your child’s favourite one at home over the summer holidays.

As we wrap up this year, we look forward with excitement to another year of cooking, learning, and sharing meals together in 2026. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey, we couldn’t do it without you!
