TEACHING AND LEARNING IN 3/4G
Our students had an exciting and hands-on day at Twisted Science, exploring a wide range of science and discovery activities. They learnt how magnets can both attract and repel each other and completed a variety of fun challenges to investigate how this works. We also explored the concept of gravity, experimented with pushing and pulling, and even created giant bubbles. The adventure centres were a highlight, as was the opportunity to learn about lizards and giant cockroaches up close. To top it all off, the students had a laugh taking photos in the upside-down room. It was a fantastic day of learning, curiosity, and fun for everyone.
At our Task Works incursion, the students used the drop up and down buttons on the Push/Pull Machine. This exciting machine gave them a chance to explore the effects of gravity and the working of simple machines. The students worked together to build a full scale mechanical robot using real nuts, bolts, pins and hinges. They pulled apart and reconstructed our STEM Train and discovered how it worked and the gearing mechanism that allowed it to move. It was great fun.
Our Kanga Cricket teams had a fantastic day representing our school at the recent competition. Students played four games each against teams from four other schools, demonstrating excellent teamwork, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm throughout the day. It was wonderful to see them supporting one another, giving their best effort, and having plenty of fun along the way. Well done to all involved!
