Breakfast Club
At Altona College, we believe every student should start the day feeling nourished and ready to learn. Our Breakfast Club runs Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 8:50am, located in the Food tech dining room (C block), we provide a welcoming space for students and families to enjoy a healthy, free breakfast before school. Breakfast Club is a wonderful opportunity for students to fuel their bodies, connect with peers, and start their day with a positive mindset. We welcome and encourage all students to come along and start their day right.
We offer a rotating selection of breakfast options, including:
- Toast with a variety of spreads: Jam, Honey, and Vegemite
- Cereal: Weetbix, Weeties and Cheerios being a student favourite
- Tuna bowls
- Fruit cups
- Apples, Bananas, and other seasonal fruit
- Hot Milo
- Apple juice and orange juice
On Wednesdays and Fridays only: Spaghetti and baked bean jaffles.
Thanking the Rotary Club of Altona for Their Ongoing Support
Altona College would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Rotary Club of Altona for their ongoing and generous support throughout 2025. Their commitment to our school community continues to enrich the daily experiences of our students and strengthen the opportunities available to them.
One of the most valued initiatives supported by the Rotary Club—along with the Community Bank of Bendigo (Altona)—is our long-running Breakfast Club. For over ten years, their sponsorship has ensured that students begin each day with a nutritious meal and a warm welcome. The Breakfast Club has become a popular and positive way for students to start their mornings, offering not only food but a sense of connection, routine and wellbeing. The program contributes to improved concentration, stronger engagement in learning, and a supportive start that helps set students up for success each day. The continued sponsorship of this initiative is vital to its sustainability, and we are deeply grateful for the Rotary Club’s unwavering commitment. We would also like to thank our fabulous Education Support team, co-ordinated by Kate Skinner, for running the breakfast club every morning. The students (and staff) benefit from the friendly atmosphere, warm food and fun start to their day.
The Rotary Club of Altona has also continued its tradition of supporting our senior students through VCE and VCE-VM scholarships. These awards acknowledge students who consistently exemplify Altona College’s values and demonstrate excellence, leadership and community spirit. This year’s worthy recipients, Dalton Clover and William Tuaena, proudly represented Altona College and their families when they were presented with their awards earlier in the year at a Rotary meeting by President Craig Ryder. Their achievements highlight the positive impact of the Rotary Club’s recognition and encouragement of young people in our community.
On behalf of the entire Altona College community, we offer our sincere thanks and appreciation to the Rotary Club of Altona for their remarkable support, generosity and partnership. We value the contributions they make to our students’ lives, both daily and long-term. We look forward to continuing our work together and to building on the strong relationship that has flourished over more than a decade.
Thank you, Rotary Club of Altona, for everything you do for Altona College.
