Greenacre Primary Campus Update

Assalaamu Alaykum WRWB,
On behalf of the Greenacre Primary Campus, I warmly welcome our parents, students, and staff to a new academic year. We pray that this year is filled with growth, success, and barakah for our entire school community.
We are excited to commence the year with a strong sense of optimism and purpose. Building on the gains achieved last year, our focus remains on sustaining and strengthening the progress made across both academic achievement and student wellbeing. Through the refinement of our support structures, intervention processes, and learning initiatives, we have observed meaningful improvements in student behaviour and engagement. InshaAllah, we look forward to consolidating and extending these gains throughout the year ahead.
Premier’s Reading Challenge
A key whole-campus initiative this year is our participation in the Premier’s Reading Challenge. This program plays an important role in fostering strong literacy habits and nurturing a genuine love of reading among our learners.
Research continues to highlight a broader decline in reading engagement and literacy levels among young learners. In response, our campus has launched a focused campaign encouraging all students to actively participate in the challenge. A dedicated communication has already been shared with families outlining program details.
We kindly ask for your partnership in supporting this initiative by encouraging your children to engage in regular reading and work towards completing the challenge. Students who successfully complete the program will receive formal recognition from the Premier at the end of the year — an achievement that celebrates persistence, discipline, and a commitment to learning.
Numeracy Project Partnership
We are also pleased to share that the Greenacre Primary Campus is participating in the Numeracy Project, a strategic partnership between Malek Fahd Islamic School and Independent Schools NSW (ISNSW).
The purpose of this initiative is to support our teachers through targeted professional learning aimed at strengthening numeracy outcomes and lifting the academic standing of our learners across K–6. As part of this engagement, teachers will participate in a structured sequence of professional learning experiences, incorporating both online and face-to-face components.
We are optimistic and deeply appreciative of this opportunity. We believe this investment in teacher development will translate directly into improved student learning experiences and measurable gains in numeracy achievement.
Aspect Partnership – Satellite Class Initiative
We are pleased to share an important development for our school community. Malek Fahd Islamic School has established a strategic partnership with Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia), a leading provider of education for students with an autism diagnosis. We are delighted to confirm that planning is progressing well, with everything on track for a Term 2 commencement on our Greenacre Primary Campus.
This initiative represents a significant milestone. Malek Fahd Islamic School will be the first Islamic school in Australia, and notably the first independent private school, to establish such a partnership with Aspect.
Through this collaboration, we aim to provide an inclusive, specialised, and supportive educational environment that serves the diverse needs of learners within our broader community. We are deeply proud of this engagement and optimistic about the meaningful service it will offer to families.
Parents seeking further information or wishing to make enrolment enquiries are encouraged to contact Aspect NSW directly.
Facilities & Campus Improvements
We are pleased to share several exciting developments across our campus facilities:
Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA) - Construction is progressing well, with completion anticipated mid-March. This new space will significantly enhance our campus environment, providing additional covered play areas and supporting smoother pick-up and drop-off arrangements while protecting students from the elements.
New Playground (K–4) - A newly approved playground space for our K–4 learners will be installed in Term 2. This addition will offer students a dynamic and engaging environment designed to support physical activity, coordination, and social interaction.
Campus Upgrades - Over the summer break, we completed the full renovation of one set of student bathrooms and undertook major repairs within the Primary Hall, including flooring and roofing improvements. Further classroom enhancements are planned for the upcoming break, InshaAllah.
These improvements reflect our ongoing commitment to creating safe, functional, and enriching learning environments for our students.
Ramadan at Greenacre Primary
The month of Ramadan has brought a deeply reflective and spiritually uplifting atmosphere to our campus.
Our students have been engaging in:
Daily halaqahs facilitated by our Qur’an and Islamic Studies teachers
Morning reminders centred on the spiritual dimensions of Ramadan
Reflections on significant events from Islamic history connected to this blessed month
These initiatives aim to nurture reflection, gratitude, discipline, and God-consciousness within our learners, allowing Ramadan to be experienced not only ritually, but meaningfully.
As we continue our shared journey of renewal and growth, we thank our parents for their ongoing trust and partnership. Your support remains central to the success and flourishing of our learners.
We pray that Allah (SWT) grants our students a productive and beneficial academic year and blesses our families with a transformative remainder of Ramadan.
We kindly ask that you keep our school, staff, and students in your mubarak duʿā’.
Ali Arabaci, Head of Campus
