Principal's Message

Assalaamu Alaykum WRWB to our entire Malek Fahd Islamic School community!

As we commence a new school year filled with hope, opportunity and growth, I extend a warm welcome to our returning students, staff and families, and a special greeting to those who are joining our community for the first time. Ramadan Mubarak to all. May Allah (SWT) grant us the ability to embrace this sacred month with sincerity, gratitude and renewed purpose, and may He shower our community with His Mercy and Forgiveness.

As we step into the 2026 academic year at Malek Fahd Islamic School, we continue our strategic journey of strengthening foundations while moving purposefully towards transformation in learning and leadership across all campuses. Our central priority this year is the implementation of our Prophetic Leadership framework — building the capability of every leader and teacher to embody mercy, integrity, accountability and service in their daily practice. We remain steadfast in our commitment to empowering every learner to achieve their best potential through authentic Islamic education, strengthened academic rigour, enhanced learning support, and proactive approaches to wellbeing and behaviour. With significant investment in our people, programs and partnerships, we are confident that 2026 will be a year of continued growth, excellence and meaningful transformation for our entire school community, Insha’Allah.

Before the commencement of Term 1, our staff participated in comprehensive professional learning to ensure a strong and purposeful start to the year. Staff engaged in sessions on Prophetic Leadership, Teacher Mentoring, Teaching & Learning frameworks and Critical Incident Management Training. These initiatives reflect our ongoing commitment to strengthen leadership, improve communication strategies and provide a safe, nurturing, and high-quality, faith-based educational environment for all students.

In addition, our newest educators completed a thorough induction program, gaining valuable insight into MFIS’s mission, values, and expectations. We look forward to their positive contributions to the academic and personal growth of our learners.

Celebrating Our Class of 2025

Alhamdulillah, by the grace and mercy of Allah (SWT), our Class of 2025 has successfully completed their HSC journey with resilience, determination, and a strong commitment to excellence. As our largest cohort to date, they demonstrated dedication across their studies and achieved commendable results.

Earlier this year, we warmly welcomed our graduates at special Morning and Afternoon Teas held across each campus. These gatherings provided an opportunity for staff and school leaders to personally connect with our Year 12 students, share words of encouragement, reflect on their achievements, and celebrate the milestones reached during their time at MFIS.

We also acknowledge and congratulate Gazi Araf Ahmed, who achieved the highest ATAR of 99.55 and was recognised as an All-Round Achiever. We congratulate all our graduates on this significant milestone and pray for their continued success in their future pathways, Insha’Allah.

Our graduates are invited to join the MFIS Alumni community, share their milestones, reconnect with friends, and continue to be part of our growing school family.

Honouring Student Excellence and Achievement

We concluded the 2025 academic year by celebrating the diverse talents and achievements of our students, recognising that success comes in many forms. Our End of Year Assemblies across all campuses provided a joyful opportunity to acknowledge excellence in academics, sport, leadership, and service.

We also congratulate our Year 6 graduates as they took the exciting step into high school and commend our Stage 6 Debating Team for their outstanding effort and achievement in the 2025 Islamic Schools Debating Competition. We remain immensely proud of every student’s dedication, growth, and positive contribution to our vibrant school community.

Indonesian Masjid & Classrooms Project

We are thrilled to share that the MFIS Masjid and classrooms in Tenjolaya, Bogor, Indonesia have been officially inaugurated. This project was made possible through the Build Your House in Jannah fundraiser led by our 2025 Year 12 learners.

Ten MFIS students and four educators travelled to Indonesia to witness the impact of their efforts, celebrating with local families and experiencing the outcomes of their generosity firsthand.

We extend sincere thanks to Human Appeal Australia and our MFIS community for making this meaningful initiative possible.

Reminder – Annual Feed-the-Fasting Fundraiser

A gentle reminder that our Feed-the-Fasting Fundraiser is running from Monday 23 February to Friday 27 February 2026. We encourage every student to participate and aim to raise at least $10. All donations will help provide Iftaar and Suhoor meals for families in need overseas through a local Muslim charity. The class that raises the most funds on each campus will receive a special prize.

Indeed, the righteous give food, despite their love for it, to the needy…” (Qur’an 76:8)

“Whoever provides food for a fasting person to break their fast will receive the same reward…” (Tirmidhi)

Closing Message

Alhamdulillah, Term 1 2026 has been a vibrant start to the year. We thank our parents, carers, staff, and students for their ongoing dedication, support, and commitment to the MFIS values of Faith, Excellence, and Service.

May Allah (SWT) bless our school community, grant us a spiritually fulfilling Ramadan, and guide our learners to success in this life and the Hereafter.
