Hoxton Park Campus Update

Assalaamu Alaykum WRWB,

Term 1 Head of Campus Newsletter contribution – Hoxton Park

Ramadan Mubarak to our MFIS community. As we enter this blessed month, we pray that Allah (SWT) grants our families sincerity in worship, barakah in time, and success in all endeavours. May He accept our fasting and charity, nurture taqwa in our children, and make this a month of growth in knowledge, character and unity.

At MFIS Hoxton Park, 2026 is our Year of Routines. While routines may seem simple, they have a profound impact on learning, behaviour and wellbeing. Predictable structures help students feel secure, build independence and maximise learning time. We have refined entry and exit processes across classrooms and strengthened prayer routines, particularly in Years 3–6, where students respectfully prepare for their prayers, transforming it into a masjid environment. These practices cultivate reverence, organisation and deep connection with their creator.

NAPLAN Updates:

Students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 are engaging in familiarisation for NAPLAN through targeted skill development in reading, writing, numeracy, spelling and grammar. Teachers are using explicit teaching strategies and data-informed revision to build confidence and familiarity with the online format. Our focus is on strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy skills that support long-term academic growth.

Meet The Teacher at Hoxton Park:

Our Meet the Teacher K–12 afternoon reflected our commitment to shared tarbiyah — the joint nurturing of our children between home and school. The sessioncommenced with a Parent Information presentation outlining our school vision, mission and 2026 priorities. Families were introduced to key members of our leadership team and informed of our focus areas for the year ahead, particularly our commitment to strong routines, academic growth and student wellbeing.

As our Primary, families visited classrooms, they were introduced to classroom expectations, reinforcing the importance of consistent routines, communication and partnership. In Secondary, discussions centred on curriculum pathways, assessment expectations and fostering independence, particularly as students move towards senior studies. Across K–12, the message was clear: meaningful learning is built on connection, communication and collaboration.

We are proud to introduce our 2026 Primary and Secondary student leadership body, known as the Student Shura Council. This team represents our student leaders of service, embodying responsibility, a commitment to excellence and a dedication to serving the school community.

Through this platform, students are learning that leadership is an Amanah — a sacred trust grounded in humility, strong character and faith. The Student Shura Council provides meaningful opportunities for students to develop confidence and contribute thoughtfully to the culture and wellbeing of our campus.

To further strengthen our school culture, we have launched a consistent K–6 reward system aligned with our RESPECT Framework and Graduate Qualities. Students can earn Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum awards by demonstrating the prophetic character traits we value. This system provides clarity and consistency while motivating and supporting positive behaviour across all domains — academic, social, spiritual and personal — reinforcing strong identity formation and a culture of excellence throughout the Primary School.

In Secondary, classrooms continue to reflect strong engagement and purposeful learning. Year 12 Parent–Teacher Interviews provided a valuable opportunity for meaningful goal-setting discussions, strengthening the partnership between students, parents and teachers. Our Year 11 Legal Studies students further enriched their understanding of governance through an educational visit to NSW Parliament, connecting syllabus content to real-world civic processes.

As part of our commitment to innovative learning, our Year 11 Business Studies students participated in the Impact Blueprint Program in partnership with RIEP and Xperiential AI. Over two days, students collaborated to solve real-world business challenges using structured inquiry and AI-enabled tools, presenting their solutions to local industry business representatives. This experience strengthened entrepreneurial thinking, problem-solving and future-ready skills, equipping students to engage confidently and ethically with emerging technologies. We thank our parent and community partners who gave their time to support our learners.

Through structured routines, leadership pathways and a clear values framework, our campus continues to grow in faith, excellence and service. May Allah (SWT) place barakah in our collective efforts and grant our students a year of success and steadfastness, Ameen.
