Sport at School - Platform & Co

Staff and students are excited to work with Platform & Co twice a week this term. On Mondays and Fridays, students from Kindergarten to Year 6 have been developing their athletics skills in preparation for our upcoming Athletics Carnival.

Years 2–6 recently focused on high jump, practising their run-ups, learning their “J curve” and improving their jumping and landing techniques. This week, students have moved on to shot put, learning the correct grip and stance, how to generate power safely, and the importance of balance and follow-through.

Students in Kindergarten to Year 1 have been practising two-point starts for their age races, while also developing coordination, balance and movement skills through fun games and activities.

Coal Miner's Cup

Stage 2 and Stage 3 students proudly represented our school at the Coal Miner’s Cup in Gunnedah on Tuesday 28th April.

We entered two boys’ rugby league teams and one girls’ league tag team. Every student displayed outstanding teamwork, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm. Their effort was evident in every try, pass and play.

A huge thank you to the  NRL Development Officers for organising the day and to our supercoaches, Clint, Antoinette, Steph, Drew and Kylie, for assisting the teams.

NSW Rugby 7s

We entered four teams across Stage 2 and Stage 3 into the NSW Rugby 7s competition held in Moree on Wednesday 6th May. All players showed great skill, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day.

A huge congratulations to our Stage 3 teams, who won the majority of their games and have now qualified for the NSWRU Primary School Rugby 7s in Sydney next week.

Our Stage 2 teams also played brilliantly, with one team finishing at the top of the table! What an amazing effort from our younger players.

AFL, Rugby 7's Softball & Diving Nominations

As these sports historically have had limited nominations, Armidale Catholic Schools do not host trials for them.  All expressions of interest are gathered, and then information is directed to parents and schools when EOIs are completed.

Expressions of interest are now open for the following sports:

2026 Sport Nomination Form for Girls Rugby League, Golf, AFL, Rugby 7's, Softball and Diving.
