Principal's Report
Term 2, Week 5

Dear St FX Parents and Carers,
Mother’s Day Breakfast
It was truly my pleasure to be part of the Mother's Day Breakfast! Seeing everyone come together to celebrate the wonderful mothers in our community was heartwarming, and I thoroughly enjoyed the lively atmosphere, and there was still plenty to celebrate. I would like to thank all our dedicated staff who assisted in making the morning such a success with flowers, tablecloths, smiles and conversations and to our families who generously donated eggs to the BBQ or their time on the stall.
As usual, our P & F Committee, captained by Steph Brooker, the Mother’s Day Stall was a complete success-once again! This tradition is now over 11 years running and it is such a wonderful community event. I hope all the mothers in our community received not only a lovely gift but also a big hug and plenty of love from their families.
GRIP Leadership
Last Monday our School Captains, Vice Captains and Prefects attended the GRIP Leadership conference in Moree along with Mrs Alex Conroy. This was a great opportunity for our leaders to mingle with other schools, develop their leadership qualities and confidence. We are looking forward to hearing some of their ideas for projects.
Kinder Information Morning
Thank you to all the families who attended our information morning. It is always nice to meet new families and show off our wonderful school and facilities. Our morning included a presentation outlining school history, staff, class structures and resources used in classrooms. We are committed to academic achievement in a Christ Centred inclusive learning environment. We look forward to seeing families again later this year for our enrolment interviews and transition program.
General Note
This term is a big one for a lot of our students, particularly with sporting trials and the Eisteddfod occurring this term. I extend my best wishes to all those students participating in extra-curricular activities this term and hope you taste success following the commitment to training and rehearsal you've made in the lead-up to your events.
Families, I hope you all have a lovely week. As the weather starts to cool and we come into the winter cold and flu season, I hope you all stay warm and healthy.
Federation Farm
Federation Farm is not only a wonderful environmental initiative but it is a great community asset. The farm allows the students of Narrabri to be involved with the agricultural activity which occurs on the farm and gives them the opportunity to propagate trees which are later planted as part of a Landcare strategy. Thank you to Lauren Eather who is proudly representing the parent voice of our school at these meetings.
We are extremely grateful to Federation Farm as they have always supported the school by donating funds which this year have gone towards the picnic style tables used in the Year 1 and 2 eating areas under the COLA.
Narrabri Show
It’s always wonderful to support our local events. Our students enjoy entering the show in a variety of arts, crafts, fresh produce and so many other categories. We are so lucky to have such enthusiastic students who are keen to be a part of our community.
What a fantastic achievement…every year group walked away with a class prize in the school show art section this year! Wow!
Catholic Schools Week
The theme for this year's Catholic Schools Week is "Pray with Hope." This theme aligns directly with the Armidale Catholic Schools vision of fostering a Christ-centered, inclusive learning community that supports young people in realising a hope-filled future. It emphasises renewal, community prayer, and looking forward to the future of Catholic education. We are currently planning to host a special assembly next week - keep your eyes peeled for the invite!
Have a great week everyone.
May God bless you,
Mrs Michelle O’Connor
