Cricket

Congratulations to Team sVc who were declared joint winners (alongside Hutchins) of the 2024 SATIS state-wide T20 Cricket Tournament.

With day 1 washed out, all teams managed to play two games in tricky, blustery conditions, with the winners of each pool declared joint champions.

However amongst the rain delays a new Team sVc tradition started with our 1st XI squad being presented with their baggy blue caps and playing numbers from Tasmanian Cricket royalty, Tim Coyle. The boys playing numbers will be forever etched into the St Virgil's College rich history books and something for the students to fondly look back on in years to come.

2024 Coyle – Clingeleffer Cup

Congratulations to Team sVc for successfully defending the Coyle-Clingeleffer Cup against St Patrick's College in Launceston. The annual Year 8/9 fixture is a wonderful opportunity for our students to represent their school while honouring two outstanding state cricketers from our colleges: Tim Coyle (SPC) and Sean Clingeleffer (SVC).

Basketball

Team sVc won four titles in the Southern Schools Basketball roster. Victories came in the 9/10 boys Div.1, 9/10 Div. 2, 7/8 Div. 1 and the 7/8 Div 2.

The Division 1 teams travelled to Launceston to vie for the State titles. The Year 7/8 teams were runners-up to St Patrick’s College, whilst the Year 9/10 combination finished 3rd.
