On Thursday 5th December the community celebrated our students' achievements for 2024.  Our Awards Ceremony was watched by parents and friends onsite and online and was streamed into all of our classes.  We were excited to see around 120 students recognised for their achievements of Excellence, Respect and Responsibility. 

 

On the day we recognised the following:

 

Academic Awards 

The top 10 students from each year level were recognised, determined by tallying the High Distinctions and Distinctions achieved in each of their subjects.

 

Personal Achievements Awards 

The top 5 students from each year level were recognised, determined by tallying the numbers of Personal Achievements achieved in each of their subjects.

 

Principal’s Award 

The Principal’s Award was awarded to one student at each year level who achieved the highest number of Green Chronicles for the year.  Well done to the following students:

Harrison I., Samantha H., Noah J., Ivy C., Alana B. 

 

Learning Behaviours Award 

The Learning Behaviours Award was awarded to students who achieve ‘Consistently’ for all Learning Behaviours for all reports through the year.  We had SEVEN students who achieved this award in 2024.

KWONG LEE DOW Young Scholars 

The Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program is an academic enrichment program designed to support high achieving Victorian students and give them the opportunity to experience university life and take part in a range of academic events and activities.   Congratulations James F. and Ella D.

 

Contribution Awards

These awards recognised some of our students who have contributed to the College community in various ways:

  • SIRC Membership

  • Victorian High Achievers Program participation 

Outstanding Contribution Awards:

Rotary Award:  This was awarded to one student per year level who best demonstrated Service above Self.  Well done to Harper D., Reid W., Lily W., Clover S. and Tahlia P. 

 

Casey Shield: The winner was Carmel N., a Year 11 student who has had an outstanding year. Carmel has displayed personal development, leadership and community spirit.  She has had an outstanding work rate and output in her VCE-VM class. She has also shown growth in Animal Studies Certificate 2. Carmel has also been a contributor in work – when regularly visiting Yarra Ranges Tech School. 

 

Long Tan Award (ADF):  This award recognises James F.  He has demonstrated leadership and teamwork within both the school and the broader community and he displays strong values, such as doing one’s best, respect for others and “mateship” - values considered integral to both the ADF and Australian society. 

 

Future Innovators Award (ADF): Awarded to Gracie S. who has shown her ability to demonstrate innovation and learning in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.

 

Other students have been presented at the famous Lilydale Heights College final assembly on Wednesday 11th December.
