Ryde East Music Festival - Sunday 28 June
What an unforgettable day it was at the Ryde East Music Festival on Sunday, 28 June! Our Training Band, Junior Band, and Concert Band each shone on stage and proudly earned Silver Awards.
A huge congratulations to all our talented students. Your dedication, teamwork, and musical growth were on full display, and we couldn’t be prouder of the way you represented our school.
A heartfelt thank‑you to Miss Jacinta for your unwavering commitment, passion, and leadership. You continue to inspire our young musicians and make our band program a vibrant, rewarding, and joyful part of school life.
Keep striving, keep practising, and keep making music. Amazing things happen when we play together.
Practice-a-thon update
Thank you for your encouragement and sponsorship of our band students. Our fundraising has allowed us to purchase new band music and small ensemble music, service some of our instruments, offset the need for band fee increases this year, and plan some new initiatives for the kids. It was a fun event that really got some healthy competition going amongst the bands.
Our students completed a total of 15,231 minutes of practice and (after purchasing prizes) we raised a total of $2966.30 for the band program. 👏

Upcoming band events
We have a jam packed Term 3 and 4 for all our bands with lots of exciting events! Please put the following dates into your diaries. Additional event dates and times will be notified as they are confirmed.
Thursday 6 August - Education week at RPS: All bands will be performing
Training Band and Junior Band: During Parents and Friends Picnic Lunch - from 1:05pm.
Concert Band: During Education Week Assembly - from 2:10pm.
- Thursday 13 August - Ryde Eisteddfod: At Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club. All bands will be participating.
- Training Band at 9:30am
- Junior Band at 10:30am
- Concert Band at 11:30am
The note to provide permission to attend and payment for the bus cost is now available on School Bytes. Families are welcome to attend the event - tickets can be purchased via the Ryde Eisteddfod Website
- Tuesday 25 August - Festival of the Bands: At Carlingford High School 7.00pm - 8.30pm. All bands will be performing. Families are invited to attend. Ticket sales will become available shortly.
- Thursday 15 October - Epping District Music Festival: At Chatswood Concourse. Night time event. Concert Band will be performing.
- Sunday 1 November - Hornsby North Band Festival: All bands will be participating.
- Wednesday 11 November - Remembrance Day assembly at RPS: Concert Band will be performing.
- Friday 27 November - Carols by Candlelight at RPS: Night time event. All bands will be performing.
Festival of the Bands Raffle
Our dedicated team of volunteers are hard at work sourcing some incredible raffle prizes for our band community. The raffle will be attended at the Festival, on Tuesday August 25th at Carlingford High, and all money raised will go straight back into our band program.

Term 3 band invoices
Thank you to most of our families for finalising your Term 3 invoice so promptly. If you haven’t yet, please attend to payment ASAP, with thanks. If you are experiencing financial difficulty, you are encouraged to contact the Band Committee for support.
