Principal's Message
Mrs Kylie Bryant - Principal
Welcome back to Term 3! We hope you all enjoyed a restful and fun holiday break with your families. It’s wonderful to see our students re-energised and ready for another jam packed term of learning and community connection here at Roselea.
OOSH – Team Kids
This term, we welcome our new Out of School Hours (OOSH) provider, Team Kids. Payte joins us as the Site Manager, and we’re excited about the fresh opportunities and experiences their program will bring to our families and students.
School Development Day Recap and New School Plan
Our staff began Day One with a focused professional learning session in the High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) space. Building on their own knowledge, they have been planning for purposeful HPGE activities within classrooms and preparing for this term’s Genius Hour Program. This innovative initiative encourages creativity and deeper learning, and we’re looking forward to seeing it in action.
In addition, staff have commenced the important process of developing our 2027-2030 School Plan. We began by reviewing the achievements of our current plan and celebrating our External Validation success. Now, we turn our attention to shaping the vision and strategic directions that will guide our school’s future. To this end, we invite all parents to join us for School Planning sessions on Tuesday 8 September at either 3:15–4:00pm and 5:00–5:45pm. These gatherings will provide a valuable opportunity to share your thoughts and help shape the path ahead for Roselea. Two sessions have been created to allow families to attend and work around their busy schedules. #GetinvolvedatRoselea
Parent Teacher Interviews
Parent-Teacher Interviews are taking place this week, and next week for KS, 5/6L and 4C. If you have not yet had a chance to meet with your child’s teacher, please reach out to the office to organise a time. These conversations are key in supporting your child’s learning journey.
NAIDOC Week
NAIDOC Week was celebrated with a special assembly last week under the theme, “50 Years of Deadly.” For fifty years, NAIDOC Week has been a time for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to share their stories, culture, and proud voices with all of us. The word “Deadly” here means “awesome” or “amazing.” The theme showed us how strong and proud these communities are. It celebrated the people who helped make NAIDOC Week happen—the Elders, artists, leaders, and families who have kept their culture alive and shared it with everyone. NAIDOC Week is more than just a week—it’s a time for us all to celebrate culture, history, and the stories that help us understand each other better. It reminds us how brave and strong people have been to keep their traditions and share them with the world.
Kindergarten 2027
Just a reminder that it is that time of year again where we begin our orientation process for Kindergarten 2027. We have a number for enrolments already however we do know that there are a large number of existing families who have a child starting Kindergarten next year who have not submitted their enrolment. With Kindergarten Interviews with the Principal beginning shortly, we encourage you to submit your enrolment as soon as possible. These interviews provide a wonderful opportunity for families to share more about their child and ask any questions about starting school. To help ensure a smooth and confident transition, we also invite all prospective families to our ‘Is Your Child Ready for Kindergarten?’ information evening, being held on 8 September at 6pm. This session will cover helpful tips, expectations, and ways you can support your child’s journey on their first year of school. We look forward to welcoming existing and new families to this event!
Mid-Year Parent Survey
As we reach the middle of the year, we invite all Roselea families to participate in our Mid-Year Parent Survey. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us reflect on our progress, celebrate strengths, and identify areas for growth within our school community. The survey is a great opportunity to share your experiences, insights, and suggestions to ensure we continue providing the best possible learning environment for your child. We encourage everyone to take a few minutes to complete the survey and thank you for your ongoing partnership and support. #GetinvolvedatRoselea
