This fortnight, our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) focus is on showing responsible behaviour when entering the classroom and settling in for learning. Students are encouraged to enter quietly and calmly, move directly to the correct place, organise their belongings and make sure they have all the equipment they need. Following these routines helps lessons begin smoothly and ensures valuable learning time is not lost.
Why is this important?
When students settle quickly and are ready to learn, they help create a calm, focused and productive classroom environment. Being organised and prepared shows respect for teachers, classmates and the learning time we share. It also helps students develop positive habits, become more independent and make the most of every lesson.
Students can demonstrate this focus by:
Families can support this focus by speaking with children about the importance of being organised, following classroom routines and being ready to begin learning.
By working together, we can help ensure our classrooms remain calm, organised and positive places where every student can learn successfully.
