Principal's Report
Welcome to Term 3. I hope everyone had an enjoyable and relaxing break. Hopefully with the break both our students and staff were able to rest up and recuperate from all of the illnesses we had at the end of last term. Please remember school is not the place for sick children.
Industrial Action
Yesterday I notified all families via Compass that the industrial action planned for tomorrow, Thursday July 23rd, will have a significant impact on our ability to offer a program for students.
We are only able to provide supervision to:
- children of critical service workers who are unable to make alternative arrangements
- students who may be vulnerable including students with disability.
If your family is in one of the above categories and you are unable to make alternative arrangements please notify me as soon as possible.
Semester 1 Reports
The Semester 1 Reports and Assessment Portfolios were sent home in the last week term. We ask that everyone returns the portfolio when they attended the 3 Way Conference next week.
3 Way Conferences
Thank you to the families who have already booked a 3 Way Conferences to meet with their child’s teacher. If you haven’t, we ask that you do so as soon as possible. It is very important that families work together with the school to enhance your child’s learning.
Please remember, if you are able to keep your child/ children at home next Monday, please do so.
Children who attend school will be taking part in an alternate program at the Senior School. Any Prep or Grade 1 children who attend will be taken to the Junior School at 3.15pm. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Building Update
The framework is up! We can finally see what the building is going to look like. I have had the opportunity to have a walk around the site and it is looking great.
Everyone was very excited today to see the new play equipment being installed. It certainly looks very colourful. The children probably won’t be able to play on it for a week or two as they will have to complete the landscaping works around the area before it is handed back to us.
NAPLAN
We have received the Year 3 and 5 individual student NAPLAN results. The individual reports were sent home on Thursday with each child who did the tests. I also sent out an explanation of the NAPLAN results to the Year 3 and 5 parents via Compass. Students have been marked in a band that reflects their results. There are four bands: exceeding, strong, developing, and needs additional assistance.
At this stage we only have the preliminary school reports, not the state and national comparison data. Our results are very pleasing, with the vast percentage of the students in both Years 3 and 5 in the exceeding and strong categories.
Prep bags 2027 design competition now open
The Department of Education is inviting current Prep students at Victorian government schools to enter its Prep bags 2027 design competition.
This is an exciting opportunity for your child to showcase their creativity for a chance to see their design featured on the front of next year’s Prep bags. These will be given to thousands of students starting Prep at a Victorian government school next year.
How to take part
Designs must reflect the theme – My year of Prep.
Submissions can be either hand drawn or digitally designed. It must be your child’s original work.
Physical drawings must be in black marker on white paper. Digital designs must be in black on a white background.
You can upload your child’s submission as either a JPEG or PNG file.
Entries close at 11:59 pm on Sunday 9 August 2026.

The Department will judge all entries, with the winner announced later this year.
