Sun Smart School

We are proud to be a SunSmart school. From September through to the end of April, students are required to wear a hat during recess, lunchtime and outdoor PE, and sunscreen is applied before the start of recess to help protect their skin.

During designated sun protection times, UV radiation levels can cause skin damage. When there is no UV Alert, sun protection is generally not required unless students are outside for extended periods, near highly reflective surfaces (such as snow), or when the UV level is above 3.

Families can monitor daily UV levels using the free SunSmart app, or via the Bureau of Meteorology and Cancer Council Victoria / SunSmart websites.
