NAIDOC WEEK CELEBRATION INFORMATION
In Week 11 of this term we will be celebrating NAIDOC week with an incursion run by NYUMBAR Education. This is the same group who came to our school last year.
Below is some information about the visit so that you are aware of what will happen.
They will be running a Jagen (Country) Program.
“The country Program focuses on the local Aboriginal land that your school is located on, looking at landmarks, plants, animals and waterways. We look at and learn about the colours and symbols on the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags as well as learning about an Acknowledgement of Country and a Welcome to country, the difference and the importance of them both. Students will have the opportunity to paint their own individual piece of art which they will be able to take home.”
The program will run over 4 days in Week 11.
It will be held in the main hall or O block. Timetable and venues being finalised now
and will be published in the coming weeks.
Year 3 Symbio Excursion – Postponed
The Year 3 excursion to Symbio Wildlife Park has been postponed and will now take place on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, during Week 10.
All arrangements for the day will remain the same unless otherwise advised. Students are reminded to wear their school uniform, bring their lunch, recess and a drink bottle, and be prepared for an exciting day of learning.
We thank families for their understanding and look forward to a wonderful excursion in Week 10.
Reminder: Year 6 Fundraiser – 4 June
A reminder that the rescheduled Year 6 Fundraiser is to be held on Thursday, 4 June.
We are looking forward to a wonderful event and thank our school community for their support. It will be a great opportunity to come together, support our Year 6 students and enjoy the day. Don't forget to wear your team jersey or sports colours on this day.
