The SRC of 2026 are doing great and having lots of fun. At the start of Term 2 we finished our first project which focused on having five sports balls in a bag for every class. We did so we could ensure every class had a fair opportunity to play at lunch and recess. Following this, all eight of us branched into smaller groups to begin other projects. We are still in the planning stages, and are looking forward to sharing with the broader community what we have been working on.
On June 22, the SRC went on an excursion to the Victorian Institution of Sport to participate in a yarning circle. At the start, we did a smoking ceremony and put our hands in orange sap and place it on an Aboriginal flag to respect that we are one. We spoke about the importance of respecting country. Finally, we planted ingenious grass. It was so much fun learning all of these with important people and even met the Olympian, Cathy Freeman.
