From the Principal's Desk
Heavenly Father, pour out Your wisdom upon the students of Resurrection School as they learn and grow. Open their minds to new ideas, help them retain the knowledge and skills they learn and guide them to use their education to make a positive impact on the world. Strengthen their spirits when they feel overwhelmed, and remind them that they can do all things through Your strength. Be with them in times of challenge and success. Amen.
We ask for your prayers for Edgar, our Corrigan Road School Crossing Supervisor, as he undergoes chemotherapy in hospital. Edgar has worked to keep our community safe morning and afternoon in all weather for the past 14 years. Edgar will be missed as he undergoes treatment. Please keep him in your prayers at this difficult time.
FOCUS ON SUCCESS, CHALLENGES AND FUTURE GOALS
Your child’s report for Semester 1, 2026 will be uploaded to Compass on Friday, July 17th . It represents a well-considered evaluation of his/her progress and development in Terms 1 and 2 of this year. Our teachers have used evidence to make balanced assessments of your child’s progress, including: standardised assessments, student-led conversations and teacher observations, school-based assessments, notes and work samples. The Semester 1 2026 Report has been produced in accordance with the guidelines of the Victorian Curriculum.
The Report provides:
English
a description of what was taught
achievement against the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 F–10 achievement standards using an age-related five-point scale
progress from the last time this curriculum area was reported on
Mathematics
a description of what was taught for each Strand
achievement against the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 F–10 achievement standards using an age-related five-point scale as an aggregated score of the Strands taught (all Strands will be reported on by the end of the year)
progress from the last time this curriculum area was reported on
All Learning Areas and Capabilities
The Learning Areas and Capabilities have an Overview of the content and learning for Semester 1 and include a graphical representation which shows your child’s progress in relation to the expected skills and Achievement Standard during this reporting period.
Each Learning Area includes a table of Key Skills. Your child’s progress is recorded for each Key Skill according to his/her year level (using a tick); these are the Key Skills but not the only Skills taught this Semester. Your child’s progress with the Key Skills is recorded in relation to his/her level; there is also provision for teachers to note incomplete Skills or those that your child required assistance with; the reason for this will be explained in the General Comment.
To be marked At Standard, your child must use a skill competently and independently at least 80% of the time.
Learning Behaviours
An important feature of this report is Learning Behaviours. Your child’s progress is recorded (using a tick) for each Learning Behaviour in relation to his/her year level. The Learning Behaviours are a summary of behaviours exhibited in all areas of school life. They include such areas as: effort, social interactions, management of own learning and willingness to participate.
StudentReflection
The Student Reflection is your child’s expression of his/her learning, achievements and interests. The Student Reflection comments are written in your child’s own words, including: spelling, grammar and punctuation.
General Comment
The General Comment section is the Class Teacher’s comments about your child’s experiences, progress in learning, interests and Learning Behaviours. School Attendance is documented in this section, including: days of absence, late arrivals/early dismissals. School attendance impacts on a student’s learning and wellbeing and this may be reflected in the Report.
This Report provides an opportunity for students and parents to celebrate successes in learning and experiences as well as to acknowledge areas for future learning and improvement.
Our Learning in Partnership (LIPs) meetings will be held on Tuesday, July 21st; please book a meeting time on Compass. Students are invited to attend the LIPs with their parents to discuss progress in Semester 1 and their goals for Semester 2.
