Classroom Corner

Welcome to Classroom Corner!

The student Newspaper, Tally Telegraph launched its second edition this week and is once again jam packed with entertaining stories, cartoons, recaps of school events, historical articles and even origin stories for our very own Tally Tiger!

The editorial team has done a great job and we can’t wait for the final edition of the year, next term!

Students have been very busy all term presenting their learning in creative ways in preparation for the Tally Expo on Thursday this week! Our students have been exploring ways they can have a positive impact on the world through learning in subjects such as Humanities, English and Science. Have a sneak peak at our year level themes below!

Australian Mathematics Competition

On Tuesday 5 August, 19 of our students proudly represented our school in the Australian Mathematics Competition. In the lead-up to the event, these students showed outstanding commitment by attending Morning Maths Club for an hour each week over a ten-week period to prepare. Their dedication paid off, as they demonstrated impressive persistence and resilience when tackling complex, timed problems. We congratulate all participants on their hard work, positive attitude, and willingness to embrace a challenge. Well done! We would also like to give a huge thank you to Mrs Quirke for coordinating the competition!

Congratulations to our Tigers’ Den Finalists!

Selected students recently took part in our annual Tigers’ Den – Young Entrepreneurs Program. Inspired by the TV show Shark Tank, this initiative gives students the opportunity to develop innovative business ideas and pitch them to a panel of judges.

We were fortunate to welcome guest judges Jamie Durass (PBC High School), John Wood (Elanora High School), and James Hill (P&C President). This year’s theme focused on environmental sustainability, and judges commended all participants for their creativity, planning, and well-developed concepts.

A special congratulations goes to Ayla, winner of this year’s Tigers’ Den, for her business idea Ground Beauty — a range of beauty products made from recycled coffee grounds.
