We have enjoyed another wonderful term! Thank you very much to our school community for your continued support. We consider ourselves very fortunate to be part of a positive, caring and friendly community.
Students have again excelled in their learning and we have been impressed by high standards of effort and conduct.
Tally Expo
Our Tally Expo was a whole-school event, showcasing our students' learning and highlighting ways that young people can have a positive impact in the world. Thank you to all the parents and caregivers who joined us, making it a wonderful school community activity.
Students and Team Tally staff did an excellent job preparing their exhibitions and we appreciate their hard work!
Our event culminated with an activity that focused on community connection, belonging and fun. Our whole school gathered on the oval to perform the Heel and Toe Polka and were then joined by parents, caregivers and staff making it a really lovely moment.
Prep and Year 1 Swimming Program
In weeks 7 and 8, students in Prep and Year 1 enjoyed participating in our swimming program and learning about how to apply water safety practices.
P&C Trivia Night – Saturday 23 August
Thank you to our amazing P&C for hosting a sensational evening at the rodeo themed P&C Trivia Night and the volunteers who helped!
The trivia night was a fundraiser towards a new playground and we were overwhelmed by the support that we received from the people who attended and community members. Fundraising towards a new playground is a long-term goal and every bit towards this large project helps get us closer. Prep Excursion
Our Prep students had a fantastic time at their farm excursion in Week 7. They visited the Currumbin Outdoor Environmental Centre. This fun and educational visit helped them connect with nature, exploring, playing and sparking curiosity and a love for the environment.
Father's Day Stall
Thank you to our wonderful P&C and volunteers for their hard work making this year Father's Days stall a huge success for our students!
Uniform Reminders
- Plain black shoes - No coloured soles, laces or boots
- Plain white socks only
- Uniform hat every day
- Label all belongings in case they are misplaced
Mathematics Competition
This week, we hosted the Southern Gold Coast Schools Coalition Mathematics Competition. This academic challenge involved teams competing from local schools and we commend all participants as outstanding Mathematicians. Mrs Skye Lawrence (our Junior Curriculum Leader and Chair of our cluster’s Numeracy Committee) and Mrs Katrina Quirke (one of our teachers who is an expert Mathematics teacher and leader of Maths Club), facilitated the event with the key staff from other schools.
Congratulations to Tallebudgera State School for winning the Professor Chris Matthews Cup for the school with the highest overall results from the QAMT Quiz.
Joel, Ayden, Finnegan, Kai, Max, Jun, Chilli, Noah and Isla were strong competitors and we congratulate them on being selected for this competition and their results.
Congratulations also goes to the winning team from the day Noah, Max and Jun who will be representing Tallebudgera State School in round 2 of the QAMT Quiz.
Nine teams in total competed with representatives from Elanora Primary School and Palm Beach Primary School.
Holidays
Wishing all of our Tallebudgera families a wonderful break. Term 4 commences Tuesday, 7 October (Monday 6 October is a public holiday).
We celebrate the first day of each term with a special welcome back and we look forward to seeing students, parents and carers near Drop and Go on Day 1.
