Principal Report

Welcoming Mr Henderson - Acting Principal for Term 4

Welcome back to Term 4 at Lakes Entrance Secondary College. I feel very privileged to be joining the school as Acting Principal this term and would like to thank staff, students, and families for the warm welcome I’ve received.

Highlights from my first week here include the opportunities to meet many of you, visit classrooms, and see the positive engagement of our students in their learning. It was also wonderful to celebrate, with staff, the improvements shown in our recent School Staff Survey compared to last year and to begin discussions about the next steps in our ongoing journey of improvement. Representing the school alongside staff at the Lakes Entrance Regional Historical Society’s book launch was another memorable moment, as was attending the recent student-led assembly which recognised the achievements and efforts of our high-achieving and hard-working students.

Looking ahead, Term 4 promises to be exciting and rewarding. I am particularly looking forward to the second cycle of our Co-Curricular program, which continues to build student voice by offering activities ranging from fishing rod making and cooking to solar-powered cars and more. Our Wellbeing Day will provide valuable opportunities for students to connect with external agencies and resources, and we also have the Athletics Day to look forward to. Of course, a highlight will be celebrating our graduating students as they complete their time at LESC and take their next steps.

I look forward to working with you all over the term and celebrating our successes together.

Warm regards,

Owen Henderson

Acting Principal
